Comment: I enjoyed the first half of the class with Professor Fields, except for the fact that it didn't feel like he wanted to be there teaching us at ALL. He was extremely condescending and discouraging. He would often skip studio sessions and would begrudgingly stay when a student asked for help. The final project was also extremely vague and unorganized. I also had no idea how I was doing throughout the whole semester. I had him during his first semester teaching ED 11A, so I don't know if he has changed or not.

Comment: So fun! Pretty much an art class. Chip's lectures were really fun to listen to and really got people pumped, and overall, he was a great lecturer. However, 1-on-1, unless he really likes you, he might not be the most pleasant nor helpful.

Comment: The class takes a lot of time for those who are new/inexperienced with drawing using media like charcoal, dip ink pen, etc. Chip is really enthusiastic, and is more than willing to help you. He's also a big idea kinda guy, so a lot of the time his lectures seem a bit unplanned and end up more than a bit useless. Still, your GSIs take attendance, so you might as well go to learn self-discipline if not anything else. You learn a lot during section, as well as in studio working with your classmates, and it's fairly useful for design in terms of learning to think aesthetically.
