Ratings for Linguistics 120
Based on 10 ratings for the instructor(s) that have taught this course.
Comment: Good professor. Enthusiastic but the class was WAY too difficult for an intro class. Exams were hell and the assignments werent very fairly graded. My group and I constantly got different scores though we had the same information.

Comment: One of the best professors in the Linguistics department. Super friendly and fun, always taking an interest in her students. The problem sets weren't too difficult and she provided us with practice midterm and final, which we went over in class. Definitely recommend taking 120 with Mikkelsen!

Comment: Line is an excellent professor and a wonderful person. If you take her class, go to her office hours whether you need to or not - some of the most interesting conversations I had were with her and other students.

Comment: Jenks was a great professor. He was super knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. What was shocking to me was that this was his first time ever teaching Ling 120. His exams are exactly like the homework (except slightly harder). All in all, everything for this class was extremely reasonable.

Comment: Syntax and semantics are my favorite linguistics subdisciplines, so naturally I enjoyed this class. It was a little too slow-paced for me, though (a lot of the lectures could've been combined IMO). Also, the class is much moreso syntax-focused than it is semantics-focused. Peter is sweet....and not to mention, quite easy on the eyes.

Comment: She structures lecture according to a daily agenda which is really helpful when you come back to your notes to study for the exams. The homework is not too difficult, but again it's better to at least look at it and understand what is being asked of you before going to section.
