Comment: Professor Gerhart is an adorable old guy ^_^ (his smile makes you smile lol) He's very soft spokened, but he does you give you handouts for each lecture. he draws on the board a lot which kinda help. I thought his exam was the easiest because his past exams were exactly the same. He's an approachable professor and willing to help students. Do his past exams and you'll at least get a B on his exam!

Comment: Professor Levine is thee best lecturer ever! He's clear, speaks at an amazing pace, and tests you during lecture, which will be on the midterm. As a Berkeley grad himself, he empathizes what the students are going through, so that's a plus. One of the best professors I've ever had at Cal. Must take a course with him!

Comment: Professor Harland taught the last module of the class: mammalian development. At first it was a little difficult to understand the main points he was trying to get at during lecture because he goes off in tangents a lot and he doesn't really have an outline that he goes over (he does hand out worksheets during class which contains material that he sometimes skips or sometimes adds extra material). Just know that everything he mentions in class will be on the final. I like how he asks the students how would we experimentally approach a problem (format of the final!). He's a very comical lecturer and will help you understand concepts if you have any questions. Great professor! Do the past exams!

Comment: I don't remember much about there being assignments since he had the first section, so I can't really comment on that. However, I do remember that he was the most enthusiastic lecturer during the Spring 2012 semester. I really liked the way that he lectured, since his powerpoints weren't just long blocks of text. He really put time and effort into those slides, and his explanations helped a lot. The test was fair, but still difficult.
