Comment: She's an amazing choral director and an amazing voice teacher, but she's incredibly strict about her class to the point where you feel screwed over sometimes. You get evaluated on singing tests where you have to sing for her one on a part, acapella with no conductor. A huge portion of the class failed these tests as it was really hard for 4 random people to know how to rehearse each other to her standards. Take it P/NP if you want a relaxed semester.

Comment: A great conductor and vocal performance instructor. I have been involved in university chorus for a few semesters now, and this term had quite a diverse selection of music, albeit a lot. There seemed to be too much music this semester than previous, but in general she knows how to run the class very well.

Comment: Incredibly knowledgeable about vocal performance. Although she wasn't too involved in University Chorus this semester (because she was also teaching choral conducting), she definitely knows how to create the best sound out of a large group of people.

Comment: As an experienced choral singer, I can say that Marika really knows her stuff. She is overflowing with knowledge and passion for the music. She may come off as a bit intimidating, but she is very personable. Don't let the quartet tests scare you too much, but do work hard to prepare for them.

Comment: She can be a bit intimidating at first, but overall she's really friendly and enthusiastic about choral music. Very knowledgeable in her field, highly recommend the University Chorus no matter how much experience you have in singing.
