Comment: Took ESPM 15, not 150, but 15 isn't on here for some reason. Pretty good intro to environmental science and issues surrounding the environment. Barely went to lecture as slides were posted online and a good skimming through them was sufficient for midterms/final. Discussion was pretty helpful for getting clarification on homework questions and concepts in class. Some lectures were more boring than others but there were frequent guest speakers and other professors who would guest lecture so it was a good change of pace from Potts and Fung who were very good and passionate lecturers. Learned about water and air quality, change on a global scale, ecosystem services, some ecology, waste management, and the technical, social, and political approaches to environmental management.

Comment: Although I didn't spend that much time in the class, the class was reasonable, tests were given study guides and practice problems, assignments didn't take that much time. What's awesome was that Fung is big enough in her field to be sent to Antarctica! She's sometimes hard to understand, but she definitely knows what she's talking about.

Comment: Rhew made the beginning of the class super fun. He didn't teach too many of the lectures though, which was the downside. Assignments were made by the GSIs and I think they were graded decently. Little mistakes will cost you points however. Lots of guest lecturers. As for the exams, one night of cramming for each midterm as well as one night of semi intense cramming for the final were enough to earn me an A.

Comment: The course was interesting and so was Professor Rhew! I recommend taking this course for those of you who have not taken environmental science. He was very helpful in office hours. Lectures were interesting and engaging especially with his jokes and witty references. His tests and problem sets (made by GSI's) were fair and manageable.

Comment: Overall, she is a very boring lecturer. Nevertheless, this class has so many different guest lecturers, it doesn't matter too much. Assignments and tests are fair. The material is interesting so despite her bad lecturing, it was interesting. Professor Rhew was more engaging.
