Comment: I specifically signed up for 8 a.m. Arabic 1B when I found out Anna would be teaching it. I am so glad she was my instructor for my first two semesters of learning the language. She keeps track of her students' individual progress and always makes herself available (much more than any instructor I've seen) to make sure students are keeping up. I don't recall ever being bored in her class since she incorporates games/music/etc. to expose us to the cultural aspects of the Arabic world.

Comment: Her assignments are a necessary amount of homework required to learn Arabic. She assigns just the right amount of work. As for as enthusiasm and helpfulness go, she genuinely cares about her students and wants to see them learn. She holds office hours Mon-Thurs and is always ready to answer any questions students may have. Her exams are very fair and if you keep up with the class material, you will have no trouble doing well.

Comment: Hayes is funny, and makes the class interesting. The assignments he assigns are useful for learning Arabic, they are not just busy work. He tells you what will be on the quiz ahead of time, so there's no excuse for not getting a good grade! Final was easy and straightforward.

Comment: Super awesome professor!!!! Knows her stuff, and is not afraid to say she doesn't know something when asked a tough question. Very helpful and adapts to the needs of her students. Overall a wonderful professor. She may not be as animated as the other professors but at the end of the day you learn your stuff.
