Comment: Mastering engineering is somewhat annoying but HW is overall okay. MTs are really easy and final is not bad. I wish Prof. Johnson could use whiteboard more lol.

Comment: I just hate the topic. Armero is a good professor just not good enough to make me like this subject.

Comment: Overall, Li is a solid professor - he's very enthusiastic about the material and does his best to convey it in an way that makes it easy to understand. The class was heavily assignment-based, and the two exams were more than doable if you went to lecture (lecture is a must; it is nearly impossible to understand the material without it).

Comment: Li is such an awesome professor! He's really enthusiastic about the subject and though the class isn't curved, he truly wants everyone to do well. Toward the end of the class, he had extra credit questions every Friday to help people. His exams are quite fair (and pretty easy if you GO TO LECTURE and pay attention). Homework was 40% which is quite nice and the exams weren't too hard. Overall, the class was great and I enjoyed the material.

Comment: Making homework due every other day was certainly helpful for people to stay on track. The exams were pretty close to the homework but time can be a problem if it's 50 minutes. He's pretty cool and you shouldn't be afraid to go to his office hours. One thing to note is that his class had a final worth 50% of the whole grade and NO CURVE so be careful about that.

Comment: Chopra is alright. I don't think he has taught CEC30 before. He usually teaches grad students. He went mainly by the book which is good I suppose. Homework assignments were due the beginning of each class period, which was pretty nice since it prevents people from procrastinating. Exams were like the homework problems so if you knew how to do the homework, you are set.

Comment: While everyone complained the first day when Chopra had small assignments due every lecture rather than a larger one due weekly, it turned out to be extremely helpful in learning the material (although his one problem per page, single sided only was a huge waste of paper). His exams on the other hand were much lower in quality. The first one was an extreme time crunch, the second one was abnormally easy (causing relative grades to be determined by dumb mistakes rather than being knowledgeable in the material) and the final worth 50% of your grade had several questions very alien compared to anything ever shown in class. Finally a minor quibble but he needs to be more aware of people raising hands.

Comment: Professor Johnson was the man! He is a really great teacher when he uses the board, but his PowerPoints masked this ability. I liked the clicker questions, but I wish he had spent some time on the board aside from those. His exams are not numerically-based, but rather conceptual. The math involves leaving variables as variables. This is different from the numerical assignments. He wasn't the most enthusiastic about this particular subject, but he did seem enthusiastic about teaching. He'd probably be better for upper division courses, but that's just speculation. As far as lower division ME professors go, he is one of the best I've had... but that's more a statement about the lackluster teaching ME professors put into lower division classes than anything else.

Comment: Nice professor. His midterms are fair but his final exam is long and hard! One HW and one quiz every week to keep his students up with the materials.
