Comment: Very understanding professor; tests are fair if you study and look through the text before. A lot of work but it keeps you on top of things

Comment: Lots of work every week, with an essay, test, and homework to complete back to back. I learned a lot. GSIs were nice. I had a section that wasn't affected by the mid semester change

Comment: Overall the class is very straight forward, like her C1X class. However, she does tend to play favorites which may or may not hurt your oral presentation or project grades as they are quite arbitrary in grading. She can't make arbitrary grades for quizzes and tests and homework assignments though, so if you know your Chinese characters and grammar patterns, you will at least do fine there. In short? Be nice and suck up.

Comment: Had Shao, but I think all classes are taught pretty much the same way. Really enjoyed Shao's personality and teaching style.
