Comment: Wow. It's my first time rating someone on ninja courses. I'm glad that I found a website where I can give 0 to a horrible professor. His 3 hour lectures were terribly boring, his grading policy was absurd, his problem sets and past exams contained lots of weird questions. Honestly, I don't understand why Berkeley is paying this professor with my tuition.

Comment: Only made an account so I could rate this professor. Horrible professor. Literally teaches straight from the book. Makes Econometrics about as dry and boring as possible. To top it off he has the lowest grade distributions of any econometrics professor and doesn't curve. Avoid at all cost. Take 140 the semester after if he's teaching it. Exams are fair though. Only decent thing about his teaching is that and the fact that he has webcasted lectures, but lectures are 3 hours long.

Comment: Lectures are heavier on the theory, and sections are heavier on application. Woroch goes over Stata for about 10 minutes every lecture, which is really great for the problem sets, which are fairly time consuming (i.e., don't wait until the day before they're due!). Exams were super tough, and heavily test your conceptual knowledge, but they have to be since they are open book/note. Make sure to ask questions and utilize your GSI's office hours if you don't fully understand something!

Comment: I think it is really hard to teach econometrics without being super boring. Prof Woroch tries to make it a fun subject and his grading is fair. I really think he is great and super approachable though I've never gone to his OH. Sections i think are more helpful in making sense of lectures haha

Comment: eh ok instructor, no curve though which I thought was unfair. lectures were kind of boring, focused too much on theorems and proofs even though they were never tested.

Comment: Carson is not that great. Just glad that I took it in the summer. He goes through material quite fast, but definitely tries to lay down the basics for you. He is extremely passionate about Econometrics and draws from so many applications to what you learn. His handwriting was terrible and there wasn't much to refer to outside of the lecture that he provided, no slides or extra material, since the book was not helpful.

Comment: I was really nervous to take Econ 140. However, Professor Romem was an excellent teacher. I thought he did a thorough job of teaching it in a way that students can really understand at an undergraduate level. He made sure to spend more time covering material that may have been more difficult to absorb. He is very approachable and personable. He was considerate and made time to arrange a meeting if you cannot make his office hours. He is very helpful and knowledgeable. The assignments were all fair and doable. Nothing tricky. The 5th problem set was extra credit, which was very nice and helped grades. Exams were fair if you studied and prepared. Some multiple choice, some short answer, some long answer. I liked that we were taught how to use Stata, which is a good skill to know. I think it definitely helped me in my other economics research projects and also recruiting for full-time employment.
