Comment: Super nice professor! Really knowledgeable about music and Chinese culture and is always willing to talk to students outside class - by far the most responsive Professor I've had to email.

Comment: This is a really interesting class that looks at East Asia in a unique perspective. I really enjoyed the class itself, and most of the readings were incredibly interesting. Jones is a great professor, but do not expect this class to be easy, you need to write well to do well.

Comment: Prof. Jones is really cool and knows his stuff. However, there's just a lot of reading and essays are graded pretty tough, so don't expect an A in this class unless you are brilliant with your writing...

Comment: Professor Jones is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about his subject, but his lectures are a bit on the dry side. He's prone to going off on tangents, but he does bring in outside relevant topics to discuss during class. He also offers a lot of outside opportunity to further explore the subject and because he's so knowledgeable, he knows a lot of outside lectures and symposiums that are going on.

Comment: Professor Jones was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The grade was based on three essays and a final. We were required to watch a few movies outside of class, but this wasn't a problem as most of the movies were quite interesting. Assigned a lot of reading, most of which I didn't do, but they were immensely helpful references when writing papers. Jones gave great insight into dissection of media and cultural artifacts in general, felt like I learned quite a bit from this course.
