Comment: Best professor at Cal, no competition. I would take a class on anything if he was teaching it. Funny, awesome at explaining things, great at office hours. Fair homework that also makes you think, and exams that are directly based on problems from the HW and lecture. Just take good notes and go to GSI office hours and you'll be fine.

Comment: I have never met ANYbody as patient as Professor Geissler during office hours. Wonderful personality, extremely approachable. First class I took without an assigned textbook. His lecture notes are priceless. The exams solidify your understanding of the subject. Weekly problems sets that are interesting. Extremely helpful GSIs too who hold a total of 6 office hours.

Comment: Extremely difficult course, in my opinion, for an undergraduate. But I learned a lot. The problem sets are time-consuming and difficult, but OH and discussions really help. Geissler is absolutely charming in his approach to the subject with quite a few nuggets of awesomeness and insights. Great course with a great professor!
