Comment: Study from his previous finals, because that's where all the problems come from. Don't be afraid of his yelling, he just wants you to be the genius that you are. Homework is very lenient on grading. As long as you show that you tried and got to an answer, you'll get full credit! Show me the money!!!

Comment: Like most BioE upper division courses, there is no curve, so be sure to do well on the midterms. The averages for midterms were in the low to mid 80s. Homework was graded rather leniently after the first assignment. Get started on the final project as soon as possible.

Comment: Overall, Li is a solid professor - he's very enthusiastic about the material and does his best to convey it in an way that makes it easy to understand. The class was heavily assignment-based, and the two exams were more than doable if you went to lecture (lecture is a must; it is nearly impossible to understand the material without it).

Comment: Li is such an awesome professor! He's really enthusiastic about the subject and though the class isn't curved, he truly wants everyone to do well. Toward the end of the class, he had extra credit questions every Friday to help people. His exams are quite fair (and pretty easy if you GO TO LECTURE and pay attention). Homework was 40% which is quite nice and the exams weren't too hard. Overall, the class was great and I enjoyed the material.

Comment: Loved this class. Enjoyed the lectures with Li, it was pretty fun to be in class in my opinion. Homework was relatively the same each week, about 10 problems of medium difficulty each week shouldn't take that long to do. Any of the things that you need to know are taught in class, in the lecture slides, or in the book (What's new?). But, just do practice and you'll be fine in this class.

Comment: Class was good. With Li, you don't really have to learn the material to get an A in the class, but if you put in the time and actually learn it the material is actually pretty interesting. Tests are very straightforward and are almost copies of the homework. I had a good time in the class.

Comment: Song Li is (understandably) way more interested in this material than he was for 102. You learn a lot in this class, but the amount of work you have to put in isn't all that bad. Homework requires you to do a lot of literature research, which is good because it gets you used to reading through papers if you don't normally do that. Exams are pretty straightforward and fair, and the project is really time consuming but still a good learning experience. Overall a really good class, especially with the professor being as nice and chilled out as he is.

Comment: Material is pretty straightforward. Problem got more time-consuming towards the end of the semester. Project is simpler than the one for BioE 104, but still start early.

Comment: Very straightforward class. Li always comes in (usually late) with a smile on his face, which is nice to see. There can be some messy algebra in the derivations or problem sets at times, but the exams are focused solely on problem solving so we knew exactly what to study/expect. Be sure to get started on the final project early, because, as a general rule, COMSOL hates you.
