Comment: Professor Kal Sastry really teaches you to appreciate the city of Berkeley and the surrounding communities-- trying everything at least once and embracing the cultural and artistic diversity. Some of the activities included the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, dinner at the Professor's home, dinner at a local restaurant, and a docent-led tour at the Berkeley Art Museum. At most of our meetings, the Professor brought healthy snacks for us to munch while he lectured on his expertise in the material sciences and engineering field, wise words such as the ABCs and RE (which you learn a lot about in the seminar), and every life lesson in between. The seminar has encouraged me to find the hidden gems in Berkeley, to step out of my comfort zone to explore new territories and to experience new cuisines. I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to enrich their Berkeley experience with new friends!

Comment: This was the Berkeley Experience Seminar, so there wasn't any exams and only a small project at the end of the course. He can be a little repetitive, but just having him serve dinner at his house was well worth it.
