Comment: This class was very frustrating because you sit in a stuffy classroom for 3 hours as Dr. Hook mumbles under his breath about the entire history of medicine. His tests and quizzes are entirely multiple choice with trick questions and impossible answers. He made no distinction as to what material was important, and I really struggled in this class because it felt like he had no idea what he was doing. In my opinion, he is too old to teach and should probably retire.

Comment: Prof. Hook really seems to care about his students and is passionate about the material lectures... That's really all the good that I can say about this course. I do NOT recommend this course due to the absurd MC exams consisting of oddly-phrased answers pulled from insignificant portions of his lecture notes. Weekly readings are a bore and are assessed via quizzes during lecture. Lectures are absolutely tedious and he whispers through them. He reads through his slides while providing little commentary. Oh and did I mention that his slides go on forever and are filled with so much underlined text! AVOID this class!
