Ratings for Cassidy, M J

Comment: The class seemed pretty unorganized the entire time. Material was actually pretty cool to learn about, but the actual work was dull. The labs took up a bunch of time and I really didn't feel like I learned anything from them, even though they were designed to mimic a real traffic engineering job.

Comment: Cassidy's lecture are top notch, kind of a jerk about office hours, but his lectures make it totally worth while. Assignments are fair, as are the exams. But beware: just because you can bring anything you want to the exam, doesn't mean that you will do well unless you really know your stuff. The exams are only two to three questions and they really test your understanding.

Comment: His lectures were good, but the homework assignments and exams were difficult. It's best to get help from the GSI's if you are struggling because he can steer you in the wrong direction, and he isn't very helpful.

Comment: He has stated that his exams tend to be very similar to hw for the most part- but that he likes to add something that was covered in lecture as well to keep us on our toes. I don't find him very helpful for the most part, but he is a very motivated and competent lecturer.

Comment: This class is really interesting and enjoyable. The exams are extremely similar to the homework, but he normally throws a wrinkle or two in on one of the problems. The group project can get tedious at times, especially when you are repeatedly dragging boxes around in excel, but overall the class is pretty interesting.

Comment: He's helpful in office hours, but really the GSI's make or break this class. Our year had awesome GSI's. The exams are hard (sometimes he gives trick questions, so beware) and his homeworks are hard enough you'll need help. Usually, the whole class was in OH's for the GSI
