Assignments

**Comment:** the exam averages are pretty low with a very tight spread, so make sure you actually participate in class because that 20% is really the only thing that will get you an A in the class (otherwise you should be content with getting a B+ max)

Assignments

**Comment:** The exams do not match what he taught in class. There's some lucky problem that doesn't require anything we learn in the class which depends purely on luck, or some kind of smartness. Also, he seems arrogant to the students in his office hour.

Assignments

**Comment:** First off, Zhang is a pretty good lecturer. Unfortunately, Zhang has the idea that no one in the class wants to learn rigorous mathematics, so he skipped over quite a few topics that tend to be standards in other 113 courses. That would be great if I didn't want to go to grad school. But I do, so it wasn't. Office hours started off great for the semester. Zhang had 3 per week which is more than more instructors I've had, however he always had this arrogant demeanor about him. After a while I would stop going to office hours to ask questions because he made me feel like my questions we're not worth his time. Assignments were fine, definitely on the shorter side which I liked. His exams we're doable, although the midterm was a big time crunch. Overall I kind of regret taking 113 with him. Ultimately I feel like I missed out on a lot of great algebra.
