Comment: He's an awesome professor. I had a great time having him as my Professor for edu 140AC. He is very passionate about the course. Btw, my GSI Kyle is VERY awesome too. If you guys happen to take this class, make sure you choose Kyle as your GSI. He's the best!

Comment: What an enthusiastic and energized professor! He's very passionate about his work and has so much knowledge he wants to share about education and literacy. I was only disappointed that we did not talk more about digital literacy. The weekly assignments are 3-4 readings (get started early). I ended up only reading two of them per week, but you should read all as they will be used in the two essays (autobiography and case study). The field work was one of the best experiences I've ever had. You basically go to a school once or twice a week and hang out with kids in their after school program and write field notes afterwards (this can be tedious, but is important for your case study). I also had an incredible discussion class and GSI, with some of the most in depth conversations ever, and I'm the type who never speak in class. So take this class!

Comment: I love this man. Mirabelli is my favorite professor at Berkeley, and I'm an engineer. The class material was easy, but extremely interesting. Mirabelli taught it like a pro. The readings...well, I never did any of them and still got an A, so keep that in mind. The exams are super easy too. But I felt like I learned a LOT about linguistics, and Mirabelli really tries to keep the class excited and awake, and he succeeded. Can't say enough about the man.
