Ratings for Fernandez-Pello, C
Based on 10 ratings for this instructor.
Comment: Very enthusiastic and adorable, but he spends some lectures on *one* example and others repeating what he said the previous day. Homework and tests are pretty fair, and tests are open book and notes.

Comment: Ok, so maybe lectures weren't the most helpful and you're better off reading the book, but Pello is just so enthusiastic about teaching and he just wants you to understand. All exams are open book, open note, open laptop, open call your mom and ask her what she thinks...yeah. They're all more of a time crunch than actually difficult.

Comment: Good class. Not about engines specifically, you learn how to write energy balances and which equations govern chemical kinetics. Last classes of ME 40 are covered over the first couple weeks, in greater detail. Lab demonstrations (no reports) are all online and are fun to watch. There are few combustion research programs so this is a good opportunity to learn about it.

Comment: He's a nice guy, but a terrible lecturer. He basically taught the same thing over and over again, and I mainly went to class to do the crossword puzzle at the back. His lectures were disorganized and hard to follow. The book used (Thermodynamics, I forgot the author, but the newer edition has a sailboat on the front) was pretty good. Thank God for that.
