Comment: It's a good idea to read the folk tales before class, yes -- you'll definitely get more out of class that way. Professor Lindow's grasp on the subject matter and the ease with which he taught it really made taking this class worth it.

Comment: The class was very interesting and a new experience to me. I personally enjoyed the first section of class the most. It is important to not fall behind on readings because it is very easy to get really behind and a lot of the lecture involves reading the stories beforehand.

Comment: Head of the Scandinavian department and just an amazing professor! He is really knowledgeable and enjoys teaching the class. He has lots of patience and when no one talks, he just continues on, not annoyed or anything. His exams are straight forward, and his final paper is also very easy. The movie screenings are a must to attend because when will you ever get to see a Scandinavian ethnic film about Arctice culture anyway? He is the professor who got me interested in Scandinavian studies and now I am minoring in it!

Comment: Reading are pretty important. He goes over most of the stuff in class. It's a lot of material to digest so take really good notes. Slides are completely useless. Tests were really easy. I actually didn't do a good chunk of reading toward the end cause I had way too much other stuff going on but I paid attention to his lectures and was able to follow along. Got an A- in the class.

Comment: Great class for anyone interested in Norse Myths. Exams are easy and straight forward, and there's so much room to interpretation. However you need to want to learn about the stories or else it'll go over your head
