Comment: Lots of work every week, with an essay, test, and homework to complete back to back. I learned a lot. GSIs were nice. I had a section that wasn't affected by the mid semester change

Comment: Liu Laoshi is a really wonderful person. She is pretty much a second mother for the class. She does play favorites, but that only pertains to when she wants to call on people in class. The grading is all the same. The exams are somewhat long and tedious, but If you study well enough, you will do fine. She isn't too great with technology, which is a problem, but usually, she is very helpful.

Comment: The exams were fair and instruction fairly straightforward. Liu Laoshi is amazing. She is really kind and caring, just like a mother :] The class really helps with chinese and wasn't too much work for me.

Comment: Overall the class is very straight forward, like her C1X class. However, she does tend to play favorites which may or may not hurt your oral presentation or project grades as they are quite arbitrary in grading. She can't make arbitrary grades for quizzes and tests and homework assignments though, so if you know your Chinese characters and grammar patterns, you will at least do fine there. In short? Be nice and suck up.
