Comment: Great professor! Really enjoyed his class, although the problem sets and exams were graded in a rather strict way. Not an easy class, but relatively minimal outside work and the lectures were entertaining. Have absolutely no regrets with this course.

Comment: Low ratings are from people who did badly in the class. Acland is the best teacher in the econ department, and econ 119 is a must-take class. Behavioral economics is the future

Comment: Very passionate about subject. Interesting content.... Stuff you can think about and apply out of class. Sometimes models aren't explained well in lecture the first time around. Prof Acland usually revisits tough concepts though and Tries to explain the same concept in multiple ways.

Comment: Professor Acland is overall a good professor but can be a bit scattered and hard to follow at times. the fact that econ 119 doesnt use a textbook doesnt help much in this regard either because it can be hard to figure out whats going on in the course just going off lecture notes. midterms and finals were fair and overall pretty easy

Comment: gotta admit, acland grew on me. my first impression of him was as a pretentious tool, and at the end of the semester i saw him more as a bumbling, friendly, and likeable pretentious tool. he's very enthusiastic about the material, but actually holds him back frequently as he gets lost in his love for behavioral economics and makes simple, dumb-dumb concepts more difficult than they need to be. how do i know this? because i got a fucking A+ in this class holy shit it was so easy. homework, midterms, final: they were all stupid easy like if you did any studying for this class you are getting an A i don't even understand how anything else is possible. acland's teaching style does make it sort of difficult to follow at times, but come on he gives you the fucking lecture notes and the class is webcasted. come on guys.

Comment: Really fun professor. Clear and interesting lectures. Problem sets and exams are reasonable (easy to me). Our GSI (Gavin) is also very helpful/ knows the material well. Enjoyed this class (enjoyed the exams as well. tell me I'm not the only one...) and highly recommend Prof. Acland!

Comment: Midterms were reasonable, final slaughtered me like a lamb. Acland is a pretty poor lecturer, and unclear about his expectations.

Comment: This class made me from being a psych and econ double major to wanting nothing to do with either subject. Acland makes me sad :(
