Comment: Rausser is an extremely knowledgeable lecturer who was surprisingly helpful and approachable during office hours. He was not quite as condescending as I had been warned. The problem sets escalated in difficulty and the exams were pretty challenging, though the class has a decent curve.

Comment: Lectures were clear and exams were just like the problem sets - the issue was that problem sets were graded on completion and were considerably more complicated than lecture material. Iff you go through problem sets with the GSIs, you'll be fine.

Comment: Gaaaaah, this class was not fun at all. The problem sets were the most frustrating questions I have ever encountered, and the exams were only slightly better. This class is manageable, but start studying ahead of time. Time management!

Comment: He's pretty condescending in lecture and likes to brag about his accomplishments. Problem sets are a little tricky and don't really relate to lecture. His exams are similar to problem sets as well as the practice midterms he posts online. Do the work and this class is a doable, albeit unenjoyable, class.

Comment: Rausser is quite possibly the smartest person I have ever met, but EconC3 still = a total nightmare! The problem wasn't necessarily Rausser - I thought he was a prententious asshole at the beginning, but he seemed to warm up and become slightly more approachable as the semester went on. (But be warned - there IS mandatory participation in lecture, and if he picks on you and you don't know the answer... Watch out! Especially if he suspects you weren't paying attention). ANYWAY - this was easily the most I've ever had to study for a class, and while I feel like I learned a ton about econ along the way, I was still praying to pass because the exams were HORRIBLE. And this is coming from someone whose lowest grade on a problem set was a 95! Beware.

Comment: Well known in the econ world, but a terrible professor. Very arrogant, although he did improve as the semester went on.
