Comment: I personally haven't gone to office hours, so I can't be an accurate judge of his helpfulness, but he is pretty nice. Overall, Panich is a pretty good professor. Sometimes he may sound a little boring, though admittedly Archaeology can be a pretty boring subject, but he is really enthusiastic about the subject and is generally funny. Not too many assignments but the few are sometimes a drag; the main assignment is a research paper. Exams are kinda mixed: the class itself is easy but then that can mess up the curve since everyone does well.

Comment: I was the lazy students and with that managed to get a decent grade. The coursework is not hard but you still learn. He was a visiting professor so I don't think he will teach anytime soon.

Comment: Boring boring boring. Lectures are almost unnecessary, as long as you know what everything on the study guide means before the tests, which are hilariously easy. The paper is a whopping 5 pages, and is also incredibly easy. Great class to clear out history breadth and AC requirement.

Comment: Horrible professor. Most boring lecturer ever, fell asleep most days. Gave very few assignments, tests tested minute details that do not actually matter outside of the class and thus were very pointless

Comment: Very boring lectures, but the class is super easy. A few tiny assignments, one paper which doesn't take too much work, and tests are relatively easy as well if you put in a few hours to study. Not an exciting class, but an easy A.

Comment: Panich's lectures aren't too bad but gets very repetitive. He seems to enjoy archaeology a lot, but he makes it seem boring in lecture. His exams are fairly straight forward except for short answers. Go on the chat room to help you study.

Comment: His lectures were really really boringggggg. He was literally doing a research presentation, having notes on one hand and laptop slides and just rambling on about same thing over and over for whole semester..

Comment: He was a pretty good professor overall, he just happens to teach a very boring class. His exams are easy, and he hardly assigns any homework at all. He seems to be pretty helpful. He really likes anthropology and tries his best to make you like it. Whether or not you do is a completely different story. If he teaches and interesting class, definitely take him. Anthro 2AC just isn't that interesting of a class.
