Comment: Course had absolutely NOTHING to do with theater, but I was fine with that--I only wanted Theater R1B because it has a reputation for being easy. The class ended up focusing on post-communist diaspora in Europe, or something like that--either way, eye-opening. Some of the required films were interesting, others were godawful-boring (dry documentaries). What I find interesting is that a person whose native language isn't English (she's from Turkey) is allowed to instruct an R1B course--I distinctly remember she marked a (grammatically correct) sentence as grammatically incorrect. She does not grade easy A's, but her class is not difficult by any means--you can get away with not watching half the movies because you only have to write papers on a few. fyi I continually got B+'s on my papers, and going to office hours didn't really help much.

Comment: She was enthusiastic about the subject matter and helpful. The class topic was kind of narrow and pointless. I did not enjoy watching movies. She is sometimes a little unclear about the grading rubric of papers/assignments.
