Ratings for Carpenter, E C
Based on 16 ratings for this instructor.
Comment: Prof. Carpenter is always enthusiastic whenever she teaches. However, it may be easy to get lost in the conversation of a class because she runs them as discussions. Her assignments are straightforward and fair. But, to keep up, it's necessary to talk with your GSI. Carpenter doesn't really hold office hours.

Comment: Great class discussions, VERY LITTLE WORK, only 2 or 3 essays and the weekly readings were interesting and 2 easy extra credit assignments. Grading didn't seem very point oriented, which freaked me out in the beginning, but just go with the flow and participate and it's an easy and enjoyable A. cool movies too!

Comment: Prof. Carpenter is super enthusiastic about Film and analyzing texts! She's a fun professor that allows students to direct the class. Sometimes, the class may run amok and gets a bit confusing as a result of the students taking control of the class, but discussion is always interesting and enlightening. The papers aren't too difficult, and office hours help out a lot with papers.

Comment: Clearly enjoys teaching and hearing student input. Not always the most entertaining readings, but she allows students to take discussions wherever they wish. Chill class to get R1A out of the way.

Comment: Pretty good and interesting teacher. Sometimes the readings were not the most interesting.. but otherwise pretty easy and engaging discussions. Going to office hours will help you- ALOT! She would help to not only find problems in your essay but also help construct a better sentence with you. She gives tons of feed back on essays and allows lots of drafts. She was pretty chill when I forgot to bring my essay to class one day.
