Comment: Easy P/NP class with 5 reflection assignments (around 1 page each) throughout the semester. Final is another short paper too. In terms of releasing stress I find it helpful but a lot of people would just come in and listen + rest for an hour.

Comment: I didn't know what to put for most of these ratings (what exams?), but I think PACS 94 was nice, I guess. To be honest I didn't go to most of the classes (and the only assignments were I think 2 one-page reflection papers and a few online responses). When I did everyone around me was asleep. If you're not interested in meditation, you won't get anything out of this class except for a free unit. Obviously it's an easy pass and you do some fun exercises, but most of it is just listening to someone in the front (sometimes not actually Azevedo, I don't think he showed up that much this year) talk about spiritual stuff for an hour. Again, it can be kind of a drowsy experience if you're not that into it.

Comment: Really not that bad of a class. I think if you read the book (really short reading assignments each week) then you can definitely get something out of this class. The biggest thing I think that I got out of this class was the concept that we need to live in the moment. Live in the now, not the future or the past, because life is short. You'll learn little life lessons like this if you pay attention :D

Comment: This is a really good class to take. There are minimal writing assignments and no exams, and the class only meets once a week. Class typically includes at least half an hour (if not more) of mediation. I would definitely recommend this class; it's great to learn more about the art of meditation.

Comment: No exams, assignments were like "how did you feel while meditating this week" - write a page on line paper. Very chill, easy pass, easy one unit. I think if you took it seriously it might help you relax and actually meditate but this class was always before my midterms and quizzes I either didn't go or just studied (which he says not to do lol). But yeah, pretty chill/cool class. I did try to meditate once or twice but as he says, it takes concentration and practice.

Comment: Firstly, Azevedo isn't really the head of this class - it's Sunshine Workman who keeps order. Both her and Americ are inspirational and really provoke you to think about the deeper meaning of leadership and your involvement in creating social change in whatever field you are passionate about. Not exactly "life changing," but definitely life enriching. Go in to Office Hours - Sunshine really knows how to give advice. Bond with your classmates - you meditate in the dark, meet outside of class, and share stories together. Weekly essays/assignments - they allow redos if you don't do well. Final grant proposal - either a social or personal project. Final presentation - short speech in front of the class.

Comment: Most people slept in this class. The assignments were easy. And the professor was passionate, but this class didn't help me that much. Take it, try it - like it? keep it! hate it? dropt !
