Ratings for Bacchetta, P

Comment: -She's very into the subject and is a very great lecturer. Class was always very interesting and she started from the basics. While most people in the class seem to come in with a lot of knoweldge, Prof. Bacchetta makes sure that all students are on the same playing field by starting with definitions. -3 one page writing assignements were easy. Just had to mention race and intersectionality and an easy 10/10 -1 midterm is just about using 3 sources per essay. I don't think they read for content.

Comment: In terms of content, this class had a profound impact on my plans for research and grad school. The readings assigned are excellent and critical. Bacchetta is very well-read and well-spoken. The only real complaint is that the lectures could do with more structure. Heaps of very dense readings but I suspect this class grades on the easy side of things. The midterm is a whopping 50% of your grade.

Comment: Very passionate. Loves hearing from students during class - lots of participation. Only one midterm and a final paper, plus a few short assignments. Attendance is importance to grade.

Comment: She's alright. I wished the class allowed for more class-discussion, but unfortunately, the class was too large. I am not a GWS major or minor and took this class out of interest after taking GWS10, which is also Transnational Feminism. GWS 102 is very similar to GWS 10; some of the videos we watched were a repeat from GWS 10. Easy class, with few assignments that were not graded, one midterm, and one final paper.
