Ratings for Lavian, T
Based on 2 ratings for this instructor.
Comment: No exams so this class is basically graded solely on homework (which were blog posts, YouTube videos, and commenting on your peers' posts and videos), participation, and attendance. Tal really has some awesome knowledge of the patent industry, guest lecturers are superb, and material, while not the most interesting stuff, is quite fascinating with the way Tal teaches it. He's an extremely enthusiastic professor and you never feel intimidated talking to him or asking questions. Only thing is not to take this class for 3 units because if you do, you have to do double the blog posts, videos, and comments compared to the 2 unit students and in the end, it really is not worth the time and effort to do that. Also, grading structure is unclear as we don't know where we stand in terms of our grade till literally our final grades come out on BearFacts. But Tal is a good professor, this is an interesting course that fulfills a CET requirement, and definitely worth taking. Plus it's a super easy A

Comment: If you are at all interested in patents or patent law take this course!!! Lavian is laid back and has immense knowledge to share. Your assignments involve reading real patents. Course speakers including lawyers are an added bonus.
