Comment: George just graduated undergraduate when he taught this course, but... he was amazing!! Pretty much everything was good except for some boring/annoying homeworks and labs. But, then again, a lot of them were inherited from previous classes, so you can't blame George! Also, he had like office hours all day, so he was always available to help!

Comment: I took CS61A over the summer, so my experience is probably quite different from the norm. That said, this class was awesome, even though it was squeezed into 8 weeks. George and all the TAs were incredibly friendly and helpful, holding tons of office hours and personally making sure we understood each topic. I took E7 last semester, but this class was my first exposure to real CS programming -- and although it was quite a sprint, I managed to handle the torrent of information. However, I would recommend having some (any) experience with programming before taking the class, especially during summer sessions; otherwise, the learning curve will be steep for a few weeks. As for losing your summer, everyone (instructors included!) spent good times outside of class playing board games and eating junk food... so we had FUN.

Comment: Totally awesome. Clear, well-organized, interesting if not entertaining lectures, pretty good lecture notes, enthusiastic, well-prepared, very easy to talk to, accessible outside of class, helpful, ready to answer questions. Homework was long but mostly helpful (not busy work at all). Exams were fair but not easy. Thought the course was well-paced for a summer class.
