Comment: This was by far the most useless class I've ever taken. It is a slight extension of Econ 1. Extremely easy course, and for students who actually want to learn something, take Econ 101A. This felt like economics for dummies. Homework was a joke. Tests were also a joke.

Comment: I would definitely encourage anyone who needs to take 100A to take it with Carson. He's a great teacher and you learn a lot. Only lecture I've actually wanted to go to because I learn a lot. Homework is pretty easy and his exams are really doable. Ended up with an A. The only drawback is if he learns your name he'll randomly call on you in lecture, so you can't really just take notes and doze off.

Comment: Professor Carson only teaches in the Summer so make sure you save one of the harder econ requisites, Econ 100A, for him. He is a great professor with a generous grading curve. It's not that he is easy it's that he teaches so well and thoroughly that it makes it seem very easy. Make sure you sit near the front during lecture and raise your hand constantly. He will always ask for your name and he probably will forget but trust me, he remembers faces and will eventually remember your name and THAT will almost guarantee you a good grade. His problem sets were very easy, all from the book or from lecture. He is very helpful during OH so make sure you go so he can remember your name and face. Exams were extremely fair and tested only things he had discussed in lecture, our book was amazingly clear so that made it that much easier. He is very enthusiastic and not boring. ANY CLASS HE TEACHES IN THE SUMMER YOU SHOULD TAKE WITH HIM, ANY AND ALL. We got lucky too because our GSI's, Alisa and Youssef, were AMAZING spoke clearly and knew everything. And they were ACTUALLY econ students not some crappy public policy grad students. TAKE CARSON AT ALL COSTS
