Ratings for Montejano, D
Based on 6 ratings for this instructor.
Comment: His lectures aren't the most interesting but he clearly knows a lot about the material. Weekly homework assignments weren't a lot of work. There was a fair amount of reading (6 books total) but you wouldn't have to read it page to page. He goes over the important parts of the book during lecture. Exams were fair, he gives you a few prompts ahead of time and lets you choose whether to do them all beforehand or wait till the day of the test when he tells you which prompts to answer. As long as you go to lecture (he takes attendance), pay attention and don't fall behind in the readings, the class is pretty good.

Comment: Boring, but looking back on it, I did learn a fair amount from the class. Montejano generally repeats the information in the books during lecture. This would not be an issue, but lecture attendance is mandatory- he passes around an attendance sheet. It is not really necessary to read and pay attention in class- one or the other is acceptable. The midterm and final are open book and he gives you the questions in advance, so just put together a solid outline or write them beforehand and you'll be solid.
