Comment: Didn't really like his lecturing style and didn't think his jokes were that funny (I think most people would disagree though based on all the laughter). Also didn't really like the first half of the class which was just filled with definitions and the presentation of information that should have been obvious so I felt like I didn't really learn that much. Second half was a little better. And I really enjoyed discussion and felt like that was where I actually learned stuff as opposed to lecture.

Comment: The good thing about this class was that a list of prompts for the exams were given ahead of time yet you didn't know which exactly would show up. Some of the reading was dull but manageable if you took your time. Going to GSI hours I thought were better than going to the Professor.

Comment: Fish is an amazing, dynamic professor, but the reading load of the course was ridiculous and the midterms were graded harshly, although I got an A with the curve. Midterm/final questions were given in advance. There were weekly quizzes that weren't too bad if you read very closely. Go to his office hours--he's a cool guy.

Comment: So apparently Fish is an amazing lecturer (according to some Poli Sci majors)...me here as a science major would call him bearable. I really actually enjoyed the course only because of my GSI: Fiona (try to get her) There is a lot of reading and some of it seemed quite pointless, at least to me, and his book is slightly boring. I liked that I was able to expand my knowledge of the world...good class. My political science writing skills made me want to cry so I thank my GSI for being so generous...seriously she was funny and cool

Comment: Professor Fish was clearly very enthusiastic about the material. He was a riveting lecturer if you bought the ideas he was selling. Tests questions were given to you ahead of time and the answers to these questions can all be found in the assigned articles (a LOT of reading). Take notes about what policies he believes are "good." It will be very obvious and regurgitating the professor's opinions according to an "essay formula" the GSIs give you will give you a good grade. The class should have been called "Democracy is the Best" 2; I personally would have liked less bias and more information.

Comment: Interesting lecturer. Exam questions were given ahead of time, which made them a lot easier to handle. However, the course was very reading intensive (some of the readings were pretty dry) and getting a good GSI is important.

Comment: He goes off topic in lecture sometimes but he certainly knows the material very well. Very enthusiactic and his exams are pretty straightforward.
