Comment: Walter was a good lecturer..but a horrible professor. He would say one thing that would confuse people and when we would follow his way he would get mad because we didn't listen to him. He was very...into himself and was very inconsiderate. He did not understand that we had other classes and other priorities, and so if it wasn't for his class he didn't care. Reviews were a bit all over the place, so disorganized. Our mid-review for our final was suppose to have guest to critique us but he "forgot" to call them. That just shows how irresponsible he is. I mean, it worked out for us, but it was just so annoying. And don't be surprised if he's always on his phone when you're presenting. And, expect to waste ALOT of money on unnecessary things because he likes to do that to people. He is very rude, arrogant, and into himself. Its only his way, and his way ONLY. GSIs were so helpful for this course. Thank God for them.

Comment: Walter is AMAZING. His work is amazing. His ideas are amazing. But, he definitely knows it. That being said, this class isn't very good. The assignments are painfully time consuming, and in the end it seemed like he liked something different every week. At pinups he'd only pick a select few things he'd like, making it more of "What is he going to like this week?" than actual critique. The assignments would be really good at making you think of how to represent and translate your ideas visually, but they're so crazy and involved you're behind as soon as he hands you the assignment. If he likes you, he'll like your work, no matter what kind of quality it is. If he doesn't, he won't. But he probably won't.

Comment: Honestly, Walter Hood is an awesome instructor. He gives out weird and painful assignments every week, but I do feel that I learned a lot about illustrating my ideas through the class. As long as you take his teachings seriously and make an effort to complete his assignments, you'll do well. As for if he will like what you present, that is another story... to which the answer to is probably no.

Comment: He really isn't that bad, but he has a nasty habit of changing the assignment or what he's looking for either halfway through the project or two days before it's due so then you don't even have the weekend to do it, just Monday night and Tuesday. He gives interesting advice about projects, however, and it's clear that he knows what he's talking about...even if you don't sometimes. If you really don't want to change your design that late in the project then do yourself a favor and DONT talk to him two days before it's due....talk to him MUCH earlier.

Comment: Walter is a very knowledgeable and passionate lecturer. He as so many awesome projects in his head that he could never finish showing students his slides in every lecture. He always challenges students to think, and always gives really good advice. His assignments kinda suck tho, he usually change the focus halfway through the project so you probably need to work your ass off the days before the deadline, he doesn't care if you could get any sleep. But cool professor anyways, very experienced designer, that's for sure.
