Ratings for Faruqui, M D
Based on 11 ratings for this instructor.
Comment: He is an amazing professor, he explains things thoroughly and from his own firsthand experience when possible. He gets to know all his students pretty well and is always prepared to answer any questions. Although the class was not something that I was really interested in, he made it intriguing and well worthwhile. If you can take a class of his, I definitely would suggest it.

Comment: Excellent lecturer, very well organized and thought out. I am definitely not a history person, and Dr. Faruqui managed to make this class not only bearable but enjoyable. He is very enthusiastic about what he is teaching, and he conveys ideas and messages in a very clear-cut and easy to understand way. I'd say the only issue I had with the class was the grading, which seemed a bit harsh at times. However, this was most likely more a result of my limited history basis than anything.

Comment: This professor is amazing. I was worried that the class would get boring, but he is extremely knowledgeable and is very good at making history seem really interesting. His tests are all short answer or essay questions, which some people might not like. However, if you keep up with the reading and remember a few important facts or dates, you will do well on the exams. I learned so much about South Asian history, and still haven't forgotten it, unlike some classes where you forget the material as soon as you take the test. Overall, wonderful professor.

Comment: Great professor. Very knowledgeable and assigns very relevant readings. You MUST go to lecture and do the readings to do well on the midterms, but he is very interesting. He tries to get to know his students and is very receptive of questions in lecture.
