Comment: There were no exams, so ignore that one IB24 was one of the best classes I've ever taken. Dr. Lim gives his students an unbelievable amount of personal attention, taking time out of his schedule to meet with them in small groups and talk about whatever they want - classes, academics, or just their lives. The material is fascinating. Furthermore, the class teaches incredibly useful presenting skills. The workload is very low overall, although expect to spend around an hour or two a week reading the material, and extra time any week you present. This is easily the best class I've taken at Berkeley so far.

Comment: Professor Lim is a nice guy and the material is interesting, but I'm not a fan of the format: the class gets split up into groups that rotate giving presentations every week, and you're responsible for a massive amount of material that's difficult to master. Then after each presentation, he lectures you on what you got wrong in your presentation. I would have to not recommend the seminar for this.

Comment: Overall a great teacher. Lim is the only teacher I've had who has stopped mid lecture because students weren't paying attention, AND THEN gave a sincere amazing lecture reminding us why we're at Cal and taking his course.
